Animatism's tracks were composed in the second half of 2000, inspired by IDM sounds.
Fascinated by the supernatural power that inanimate objects possess, such as the vital flow that comes from natural elements that allow the birth and development of all forms of life, this is also linked to the ability of science to merge various elements to create new ones, for develop a vital characteristic, such as electronic, mechanical components, which, when joined together, form objects that take on a new life of their own, artificial intelligence is an example.
In addition to this, the fascination for the beliefs and rites of the more traditional indigenous peoples.

Nicola Buono, cofounder of pioneer IDM act Retina_it together with Lino Monaco, started releasing since 2017 under the solo project Resonant Coil.
After an initial interest in djing, back in the 90's, Nicola channeled his energies into live performing and studio production, enriched by the use of self built acoustic and electronic instruments such as modular synths, noise boxes and effects.
Leaning naturally to darker sounds, floating between dub, techno and evocative music, Nicola is a noise lover, finding inspiration in industrial music and post punk.
Besides the long lasting Retina.it - publishing on labels like Raster, Hefty Records, Midgar, Semantica - Nicola took part to several more collaborations with Lino Monaco, such as the 90's techno infected Quiet Men, QMen, and The Ne-21 merging EBM and Synthwave influences with Electro and Idm.
Nicola and Lino Monaco participate in other ensembles such as Officine di Efesto and Men with Secrets (both with Donato Dozzy), r2π (with PRG/M, Ruhig), Resina (with Marco Messina), Brood (with Hefty label manager John Hughes) and more.

Nicola made his solo debut under the pseudonym Kernelsix releasing Cod Ep for Labrynth Rec, then changing the project's name to Resonant Coil, and releasing on Subsidence Rec the albums - Systemic Venom and Satur Action - followed by another album Layer of Dust on the italian Unità Psicofisica.
